Blender: Building My Own World

My second Blender practice. This is the first tree I ever made.

I’m not used to doing things on my own. Since I’ve always just followed the assignments given by school, teachers, or professors, I never really had the thought—or the confidence—to set my own goals and build my own portfolio.

However, before leaving for France to study Urban Planning, the thought of myself going to grad school only to do the work others told me to do suddenly made me very anxious. I thought, "I should try something on my own, though I'm not sure what it is yet." And once again, I just thought about it. I didn't actually act.

Then, thanks to my boyfriend who started Blender first, I ended up muddling through YouTube tutorials alongside him. Having someone doing it with me is great; it's comfortable to ask questions and it keeps me motivated. Though it started with a small "push" from someone else... I expect this will be remembered as a task that quickly transformed into something I found joy in and continued on my own. I'm excited for the cities I’ll build, and the towns I’ll create.
